Staying with Us
Welcome to Gaia’s Garden. To ensure a beautiful, peaceful, and harmonious stay for everyone in our community, we kindly ask you to observe our essential house guidelines.
🌿 The Vibe & Quiet Hours
• A Stress-Relief & Digital Detox Sanctuary: Our guest house is a dedicated space for deep peace, quiet, and ecological living. To protect this nurturing environment, we maintain a strict no-alcohol and no-drug policy across the entire property. Smoking is not allowed in the building.
• Mindful Silence: We observe Quiet Time from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Loud music, parties, and outside visitors are not permitted after 10:00 PM.
• Garden Peace: Our plants and guests are here for tranquility. Please help us preserve the quiet beauty of the garden.
💳 The Aurocard Advantage
No one arrives in Auroville by accident! To help you fully experience our international township, guests staying inside Auroville are eligible for an AuroCard.
• This card serves as your official identity card on campus.
• It provides seamless, cashless access to Auroville’s internal services, restaurants, cafes, cultural events, and classes.
• It is required if you plan to visit the Matrimandir.
🗓️ Timings & Registration
• Check-In & Out: Check-in is from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM (please alert us if arriving later). Checkout is before 10:00 AM.
• ID Registration: Indian guests must present valid ID proof (Aadhar, Driving License, etc.). Foreign nationals/OCI must present an original passport and visa.
☀️ Eco-Living & Sustainability
We run closely aligned with the Earth and have been part of the Auroville experiment for over 27 years:
• Solar Power & Power Backup: We use solar energy for general electricity and hot water during the day. In case of local power cuts, our backup system keeps your lights, fans, and plugs running smoothly. Please note that to save energy for the planet, air conditioning units do not run on backup power.
• Sweet Ground Water: Gaia’s Garden is blessed with delicious, sweet underground water. We filter it and offer it freely to our guests—no need to purchase plastic bottled water!
• Conscious Amenities: We do not use single-use plastic toiletries. Instead, we provide artisan Ayurvedic soap and shampoo carefully sourced from the Sri Aurobindo Ashram cottage industries.
🏡 Shared Spaces & Community Policies
• Shared Kitchen: Please store your food in your private cupboard, consider other guests, and clean up immediately after cooking.
• Waste Management: Help us segregate waste: food/organic items go to compost; clean plastics and dry waste go to recycling.
• Valuables: Please use your room safe. The guesthouse is not liable for personal losses.
⏰ Office Hours & Services
• Office Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Please respect our team's privacy and do not call outside these hours except in a true emergency.
• Room Cleaning: Free twice a week upon request. Additional cleaning is ₹500 + GST.
• Laundry: Available at ₹500+GST/load. Fresh towels and bedsheets are provided upon request.
• Dining & Food Delivery: Local restaurants, cafes, and buffet lunches (Solar Kitchen/Aurelec) are a short distance away, and food delivery is easily available to our site.
