Perhaps Gaia’s Garden is the only flower garden in this area, and its tropical exotic plants spread over 2.67 acres. In the very heart of the garden, there is a little temple circled by nine ponds and Plumeria. The banyan tree watches silently over the meditation garden. Statues of gods conceal themselves among the abundance of lives teeming here and there.

Opening your eyes to bird songs in your sleep, following fireflies in the garden pavilion, melting thousands of stars into your heart on the rooftop terrace… you will realise that you are in the arms of Mother Earth Gaia.

Gaia Garden’s spacious guest rooms have 3.5 m high ceilings, king size beds, a creative writing desk and large windows that take you directly out to the garden. In the main building there is a shared kitchen, a dining room and several terraces.

The island kitchen has 4 burners, 2 refrigerators, a mixer, an Italian espresso, pressure cookers and a reverse osmosis filter for drinking water. In this very location of Auroville, Gaia’s Garden is gifted with good, sweet water from the ground. The dining area seats ten. On the adjacent verandah, complete with its own garden and pond, guests may enjoy a more intimate dining experience.

At Gaia’s Garden, there are two guestrooms with a private kitchen, three guest rooms with private terraces and air conditioning in every room (in the main room for family suites). The GG team strives to offer guests an oasis of serenity and beauty. No drugs, alcohol or smoking is permitted and silence is expected after 10 pm. Gaia’s Garden is one of Auroville's closest guesthouses to the beach and to the city of Pondicherry.
